Our client has grown significantly from their humble beginnings, and through delivering on time and to budget as well as creating long lasting relationships with the companies that matter they have evolved into one of the true specialist contractors in the market today.



Capable of delivering any utilities based project nationally, they have carved a niche market in the Water, Power and Oil and Gas sectors purely by providing exceptional engineering nous coupled with a safe and systematic approach to project delivery and it has yielded dividends as well as plenty of repeat business!

Not wishing to rest on their laurels Senior Management have determined that a Business Development Manager – Qld has to be brought on board to really take the market by the scruff of the neck and Plan and direct marketing activities within a defined area of operation to increase sales and maximise revenue and profitability.

Reporting to the General Manager East, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Formulating, recommending and implementing the annual marketing plan to maximise sales.
• Developing market research methods and indicators to identify major prospects
• Establishing methods to determine the probability of winning each major identified project to assist in the total forward planning of the area.
• Participating in the preparation of medium term financial plans to ensure they are feasible in marketing terms, project market mix and sales value.
• Overseeing, coordinating and evaluating branch selling activities, reviewing actual sales against plan, and taking corrective action on major deviations from the plan.
• Briefing Internal Stakeholders on the economic and business viability of the proposals they submit to potential clients, thereby ensuring profitability of potential new business.
• Assessing potential sales and marketing opportunities in the area and recommend the allocation of financial and human resources for turning these opportunities into achieved sales.’
• Negotiating with selected major potential clients and provide marketing and sales support facilities to Internal Stakeholders to ensure they have a competitive edge when negotiating major sales and contracts.

And other duties as required.

Ideally candidates with tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, exposure to utilities projects in excess of CV$100m, relationships with key clients/owner operators as well as State and Federal Government Authorities would be most attractive to the employer.
