This contractor, a long term client of In2work, has been really riding a wave of success of late! Not only have they been steadily building their capability in all facets of their business, which includes Mechanical and Electrical, Mining Infrastructure, Earthworks and Roadworks, they have been winning the big projects and beating more established competitors at their own game.



A recent restructure has seen them allocate In2work with the Role of Planning Manager for Brisbane to ensure that the projects undertaken are designed and planned to maximise efficiency and minimise construction costs and to Lead the Planning team in establishing and managing the project Time and Earned Value Management systems, including planning, programming, monitoring and reporting against Programmes to ensure that project time goals are met or exceeded.

Reporting to Planning Director the candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing comprehensive Planning Procedures for the project, meeting the requirements of the D&C Contract and internal JV requirements.
• Liaising closely with the Construction teams and gain a detailed appreciation of the key construction operations, taking into consideration alternative methods and the optimum construction methodology.
• Ensuring that the agreed construction methodology is communicated to, and understood by, the Planning team and forms the basis of detailed programming.
• Leading the various aspects of the planning team (i.e. both corporate and site) to ensure a rounded and effective planning service to the project
• Ensuring that the project runs to program by driving program dates and communicating program constraints and Reprogram as necessary to recover any delays and to achieve required milestone dates.
• Overseeing that all programming is carried out within the framework established in the planning procedures.
• Ensuring that the Contract Program, Target Program and Short-term Programs are prepared and issued in a timely manner.
• Creating establishing and implementing a comprehensive regime of monitoring and updating of all programs, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
• Ensuring that the formats of all programs are such as to provide a means of effective communication of time goals and methodologies, to all participants.

Have you performed at such a level in a Construction Contractor?

This is clearly a Senior role and candidates with previous management of a large team of Planning and cost staff will be highly considered.
